Howa!! Chi Miigwech Gizhe Manidoo minawaa Anishinaabedog! The St Louis River Water Walk was an incredible experience! I probably wont remember everyone who made it possible for this ceremony to unfold so Ill just say this. 1st: Our ancestors who survived and retained our teachings so that we may know who we are and what we need to do to maintain Anishinaabe culture. 2nd: Our elders who continually encourage us to BE who we are in a good way. Especially those Midewewin who help us maintain our teachings & ceremonies. 3rd: All the brothers & sisters from all directions tirelessly working to restore health & balance to Mother Earth, her Waters and all our relatives. About 30+ of whom were directly involved with this Water Walk Ceremony. We were able to walk in prayer for the Waters, the River, Spirit Lake, Gichigamig and have ceremony on Spirit Island. I am grateful. We are blessed. My family & I are forever changed by these past 5 days. Love the Water, Water is Life.
