Howard Lyman, author of The Mad Cowboy and the subject of multiple documentary films, will be speaking LIVE in Tucson, for FREE! Invite friends and family along to share in this important event. Enjoy a vegan food court along with a Meet and Greet, starting at 5 PM. Howard will go on stage at 7 PM. Coinciding with the Peoples Climate March in NYC, Howard Lyman will raise awareness about the role animal agriculture plays in not only climate change, but in other ecological devastation as well as its impact on human health and the lives of animals. Howard was a fourth generation cattle rancher who turned vegan when he realized the harm that his familys business was creating in human health and the environment. He understands that we must ask ourselves as a culture ... whether we want to embrace the change that must come, or resist it. And, he says, we must ask ourselves this fundamental question: Are we so attached to the dietary fallacies with which we were raised, so afraid to counter the arbitrary laws of eating taught to us in childhood by our misinformed parents, that we cannot alter the course they set us on, even if it leads to our own ruin? Making responsible food choices, he says, makes him feel a part of a movement that is not so much political as it is the march of the human heart. Author of Mad Cowboy: Plain Truth from the Cattle Rancher Who Wont Eat Meat and No More Bull! The Mad Cowboy Targets Americas Worst Enemy: Our Diet, Lyman is subject of the documentary films Mad Cowboy and Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home, and appears in the new film, Cowspiracy. He also is founder of Voice for a Viable Future, an educational nonprofit organization that promotes organic family farming, biodiversity, vegetarianism, environmentally friendly practices, and enlightened trade. Howard garnered national attention when he blew the whistle on mad-cow disease as a guest on Oprah, which resulted in the famous Cattlemens Association lawsuit.
