Howard Morgan is a black Chicagoan who was shot 28 times by four white cops in 2005 who didnt care or believe that he was a Federal Railroad Officer. They packed him in a bodybag and sent him to the morgue, only to destroy evidence--the van, the bodyvests--after he lived and frame him for attempted murder, without any forensic evidence. In his first trial, Morgan was acquitted of ever firing his weapon, and police have no evidence of gunpowder from his hands or any other forensics standard for these charges. But Howard Morgan was tried a second time, in unconstitutional double jeopardy, and convicted in 2012 of multiple counts of attempted murder against the white officers who had tried to kill him. In a horrible miscarriage of justice, the defense was not allowed to tell the jury Morgan was found innocent of using his gun, or to use any of the evidence or arguments that resulted in that acquittal. He was convicted of attempting to murder four white cops with his service gun, by white jurors who didnt know it was already proven that Morgan never used his gun. Occupy Chicago passed a resolution in 2012 affirming the total innocence of Howard Morgan, condemning the police who tried to murder him and demanding his full amnesty and freedom. Gov. Quinn just pardoned over 100 people. Now is the time to demand Howard Morgans freedom by calling the Governor at 312-814-2121 and 217-782-0244.
