Howard Neel Cox, 84, of Fulton, died Aug. 21, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City. Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Dr. Bobby Williams and the Rev. George Hutchison officiating. Burial will follow at Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Shayne Cox, Corey Cox, Dwight Cox, David Cox, Kyle Ross and Ricky Dugger. The family requests memorial be made to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was born Dec. 24, 1928, in Gibson County, son of the late Almos Lee and Julia (Vaughn) Cox. He married the former Mary Alice Osborne on Dec. 17, 1949. She passed away in February 2001. He was a retired farmer and independent truck driver. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Twana Cox of Union City; two sisters, Ann Kern of Maryville and Emily Wagner of Fulton; two brothers, Vanoy Cox of Union City and Travis Cox of Paris; four grandchildren, Shayne Cox of South Fulton, Corey Cox of Troy, Allison Ross of Union City and Sheila Rice of Martin; and 12 great-grandchildren.
