Howdy Friends! ~ He sat huddled, fluffed twice his size, watching me watching him. Among silver, frost cover sticks, branches and vines the tiny chickadee looked gloriously magnificent. His posture showed an air of dominance over his domain, though I knew it was an attitude of seeking warmth. Still the tiny bird held my thoughts and gaze with an interest that had me imagining worlds where chickadees ruled with steely glances, dispatching fear and submission to all those who entered his realm. With a quick flutter he righted himself and shot from sight, fast, and straight as an arrow from a bow. He disappeared into the iced thicket, taking with him his world ...
