Howdy People! We’re gearing up for our longest tour of the year so far and my group, Dave Anthony and Dusting Sargent, are primed and ready to go. We just came off a successful jaunt into Canada and we can’t say enough good things about the people of Canada and to the staff and promoters who run Tremblant up there in beautiful Quebec. We stopped at this Go-Kart stand just south of town and had a hot dog and met the owner of the stand, Joe I think was his name, and he was just as nice as they come, even took our American dollars for pay cuz’ we hadn’t even made money yet but he says he goes down to Florida every year and he’ll use them for that. Once again a big thumbs up for Gary and Guy who put on the show at Tremblant. We’re going to start this tour Tuesday July 23rd in New Orleans, America’s truly exotic city and a cultural jewel on many levels; food, way of life and music to name but a few. It’s going to be special playing the few Meters’ tunes that we do while there in New Orlin’s. The Rock n’ Bowl is in the top 5 of unique places that we play so people should come just to see the venue. If you haven’t been there – yep, they are bowling, as in ten pins, while we are playing! We don’t get much time in the Crescent city cuz’ next it’s off to my home state of Texas. First up - Houston at the Dan Electro Guitar Bar (7/24)and then San Antone, at Sams Burger Joint (7/25)where I get to see all my old high school buddies and longtime family friends, I’m looking at you Marvels!, plus we’re going out to the vastness of west Texas in Midland for the Tall City Festival (7/26) then come back to San Angelo to stop in at Rod’s place Sealy Flats, (7/27) one of our fave’s to play at and winding up back in Austin at The Saxon Pub (7/28) where hopefully my daughter will come and see us - Where you will hear me playing Sweet Little Girl which is of course her song. We have Corpus Christi where I’ve been playing for a long time at the Executive Surf Club, (7/29) I want to give a shout out to John Cortez who helped me obtain this gig on short notice and to Manny who runs the club for giving us the date. It’s a win-win for the people of Corpus in my view. We end up in the north side of the state, first Dallas at Poor David’s Pub,(7/31) thanks again to David Card for giving us this show with short notice, and for Jimmy Adcock that will be opening up for me and bringing all his peeps to help pad my bottom line. These were gigs I had to scramble for so I need my fans to show up and keep the train rolling down the track. Our last Texas stop is Abilene TX at Kent’s on 8/1 which I have always said is the ‘Jewel of West Texas’ and that’s because it’s the people there that gives that town it’s shine and luster. I look forward to seeing everyone out there and you gotta come out cuz’ you never know what I’m going to play or how I’m going to play it. I try to keep it fresh and new and try to put into my playing the emotions that I’m feeling that day and at that moment. I do it all for the love of music and for the love of playing for all of you out there. Thanx - chris duarte
