Howdy folks Open today 10- 5 pm. Come out and pick up your sausage among some wonderfully created gift baskets, chocked full of RMBS products for that special Christmas gift. Credit / Debit / EBT accepted. 5% discount for cash purchases until December 24 th. The shoppe is undergoing some minor changes this month as well. The smoker is in but not connected to electrical nor is the flu attached. The third floor drain is finished. The glass partition that will divide the kitchen from the retail will be installed on the 7th and 8th next week. So the shoppe will look a little different when you see it next. All of this is so that I can acquire a state level inspection. With this in process there will be more changes. I will have an inspector in house daily, I will be permitted to take in field dressed deer carcasses to custom cut, grind, and mix to your specifications and vacuum seal in a nice clear package. I will begin to process cooked items as well. Jerky, summer sausage, etc. Adding hot cooked meals for take out on Wednesday through Friday, Saturday if demand is present. I look forward to serving my community great locally raised healthy meats and local hand and homemade items as well. Rose Mountain Farm purchased laying hens this week and will be supplying the shoppe with eggs as soon as Wednesday. I apologize for the lack of egg inventory. The hens deserve a break also I guess. These new girls are settling in nicely and are cleaning out my high tunnel of the weeds and seeds left behind from this past summers tomato crop which was abundant. The farm is continuing to source more laying hens to increase the flock to 100 hens by spring. The three dairy cows are showing their bellies as the pregnancy progresses. Calves due in February likely. I am looking forward to Terry (my eldest son in law) retiring from the Marine Corps in two years to come home . We are discussing the likelihood of him taking over the production of the farm and increasing crops and apples. Managing the brood sows will continue to be my part. Destiny my oldest will be a Registered Nurse by May so she will work off farm most often. I presume as the days crawl and the years fly the other two daughters Autumn and Danielle will migrate back to the mountains after they have seen the rest of the world that calls to them. I appreciate you all as friends and customers Eat well, Stay healthy
