Howdy gang - i spent most of the day at the MacDonald Pass Radio site with Tom (WR7AGT) doing some clean up work on the tower. We got all the old 110 volt electrical conduit off the tower and started in on removing some old Microwave Wave Guide and the cages they are in. Still have more work to do but we will get er done !!!! To quote the Cable Guy !!! Starting back on July 3rd, I have been helping two great ham radio friends. Rob (AE7AP) and Barb (AE7AQ) left Helena on that date and are hiking to the Glacier Ham Fest near East Glacier Montana. Each evening we meet on frequency 7060 on morse code (CW) to get their location and report to family and friends via e-mail. Since there is no cell phone coverage for miles and miles, Ham Radio is there communications of choice and a good one. No satellite phones on this trip. Woo Hoo !! They expect to cover the 120 or so miles by 17 July and then attend the Ham gathering. Truly a remarkable adventure through the Scape Goat and Bob Marshall wilderness areas and finish in Glacier Park. I am honored to be a small part of this great adventure by doing communications for two great friends. Ham Radio Rocks !!!!!
