Hows your faith? Or... a better question... what is your faith? Does it occur to you that ALL of the scriptures were written by Hebrews? That all of the apostles were Jewish? That our Messiah was Jewish in bloodline, in word, and in deed until the day he was crucified and died for us? There are two different mindsets we see in the scriptures as we have them today, in the King James. One is of Hebraic origin and the other is Hebraic that has been translated into Greek. The Greeks are well known for their philosophical approach to everything... the Hebraic mindset is one of action! Put an ancient Greek and Hebrew in the same room, present a problem to them, and undoubtedly the Greek will ponder why the problem exists and the Hebrew will do something about it. When we see inconsistency in OT scriptures versus NT, it is an issue of translation.... not an inconsistency of a God that changes not. Here is a good example: Genesis 15: 6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. Romans 4: 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Two scriptures regarding the same event. Two mindsets interpreting the same event. Lets look at the word believed from the Hebraic and the Greek perspectives... G4100 Original: πιστεύω Transliteration: pisteuō Phonetic: pist-yoo-o Thayer Definition: to think to be true, to be persuaded of, to credit, place confidence in of the thing believed to credit, have confidence in a moral or religious reference used in the NT of the conviction and trust to which a man is impelled by a certain inner and higher prerogative and law of soul to trust in Jesus or God as able to aid either in obtaining or in doing something: saving faith to entrust a thing to one, i.e. his fidelity to be intrusted with a thing Not that the Greek is inaccurate. Abram believed and trusted the voice of God. The difference is, because he believed and trusted... he obeyed. He was set in motion because of belief! Faith is not what you believe. Its what you do because of what you believe. Is your faith a thought? Or is it in action?
