Hudud : We Are Always Open To Dialogue We are most eager to share with our non-Muslim friends in and outside of Kelantan, the finer details of Kelantan’s state government plan to send a private bill to the Parliament that if passed, would give way to the implementation of Enakmen Kanun Jenayah Syariah (2) 1993 in the state. Our doors are always open to individuals or parties, either from the DAP, MCA or other interest groups for that matter, to discuss any arising issue amicably. The enactment, which includes Hudud should not be viewed with suspicion. There is no particular reason for our non-Muslim friends to be worried since this enactment will not be enforced against them. I wish to stress the point that Hudud only concerns the Muslims. The fact that the enforcement of this enactment will be decided by the Syariah Court which jurisdiction covers only the Muslims should further assure the non-Muslims of religious freedom in Malaysia and Kelantan in particular. Kelantan PAS Youth is always committed to religious freedom being one of the bedrock principles of democratic Malaysia. It is consistent with Quranic teachings of not forcing anyone to embrace Islam, a guarantee that has stood since the days of its revelation. It is a principle that has helped sustain harmonious living in our beloved country in the celebrated spirit of religious tolerance. Again, our doors are always open for discussion. So let’s talk.
