Huge personal accomplishment today, managed to do an overheard barbell squat. Messing around after classes this morning and managed to do a few. Couldnt believe it, really this is something I thought I would never do The technique is awful, shoulder stability poor as the bar path is not good, but still progress. About 6 months ago I wouldnt have been able to hold the bar overhead and even come close to parallel! The bar is a girls bar, so it is only 25kg. I did manage to do 5 reps at 30kg with a mens bar after but didnt have anyone around to film. Probably could have done more but since it was my first time actually doing them I didnt want to push it and I hurt my back Monday. I probably owe the ability to doing these from doing a lot of swings to strengthen my core and posterior chain and high bar back squats and front squats for strengthening my quads and making my hips stronger and more mobile. Play to your strengths and work on your weaknesses
