Huge thank-you to RCWnurseries for the incredible donation of massive trees (14’ tall!) – bald and pond cypress, red maples and a beautiful white oak, that got planted yesterday. As you can see, it takes a village to plant such big trees – or at least a dedicated group of Grand Valley State University students from Michigan. This is the third time BLC has hosted wonderful kids from Grand Valley, who come down to get out of the cold and do great work for an “alternative” break with us. These kids learned how to plant trees properly around the big pond at our Spring Trails Preserve. And then they did some important privet removal work within the trail system… And thanks to Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church for giving the students a place to put their weary heads down after their hard work in the field for us…
