Huh?!?! On what planet it a Prius more comfy to drive/ride in - TopicsExpress

Huh?!?! On what planet it a Prius more comfy to drive/ride in than the Volt? The Volt feels like a mid-sized car, probably because it is one. I just drove all the way to Texas and back in mine, accompanied by a boy, a Beagle, and lots of Christmas presents, and my back and legs never hurt. In contrast, the Prius feels like what it is: a subcompact lightweight vehicle that gets blown around with gusts of wind from semi trucks passing you by. I cant imagine ever choosing to take a highway trip in one. And they fail to mention that while the mpg when running on gas is lower in the Volt than the Prius, most of us Volt drivers never even use gas. We can go for months without visiting a gas station. The Volts meter that indicates average mpg tops out at 250+ mpg and thats where mine sits. The original Volt, introduced in 2010, could travel 35 miles on battery power. But after the battery ran out, it achieved only 37 mpg operating as a hybrid. The current Toyota Prius, by comparison, achieves 51 mpg in city driving and offers more comfort and refinement at a substantially lower starting price. That said, this new little Bolt sure has lots of appeal! I dont see myself giving up the space and comfort of the Volt since the 35 miles of battery power are more than enough for my current daily needs. But Im glad to see Chevy leading the innovators.
