Hull: Police offer people a post Christmas event to get presents registered on immobilise Riverside Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) are encouraging people to attend a post Christmas immobilise event at Asda, Mount Pleasant Retail Park, Hull on New Years Day. During the drop-in event between 1000hrs and 1600hrs the NPT will be supporting members of the public in signing up to immobilise for FREE and assisting them in getting all their new presents uploaded. immobilise is a FREE web based property recording system, endorsed and searchable by all UK Police Forces. This is a fantastic tool, used by police across the UK. Having an account assists the police in recovering and returning items, if they are lost or stolen, but also ensures that offenders can’t sell them on and are brought to justice. PCSO Gemma Jackson from Riverside Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “At Christmas people get the latest TVs, laptops, mobiles, games consoles and cycles; this event is all about helping the public get these items registered on immobilise. It is a great site that can really help the police in bringing offenders to justice for handling goods and assists officers in reuniting any property which has been lost or stolen. I really hope lots and people come along to see us on New Years Day.” For guidance on property identification tools like immobilise download the attached leaflet.
