Human error in the tragic crash of AirAsia QZ8501? Preliminary - TopicsExpress

Human error in the tragic crash of AirAsia QZ8501? Preliminary on-going investigation into the crash of AirAsia flight after it took off from Surabaya to Singapore, provides tentative indications the pilots attempt to climb to a higher altitude might have stalled the plane causing it to crash into the sea. The last known contact between the airlines and the control power was when the pilot asked permission to climb from 32,000 to 38,000 feet to avoid the bad weather. Just in the case of AirFrance Flight AF447 which crashed in 2009, AirAsia plane could have climbed suddenly and lost speed giving rise to mid-air stalling. It is this mid-air stalling that experts say that caused the crash of AirFrance plane. Anyway, these are very tentative initital suggestions of what could have possibly happened to the AirAsian Flight on Sunday. It must be remembered that bad weather was the main culprit, but then pilots are trained to deal with emergency situations all the time. Some experienced pilots say that similar bad weather conditions perhaps much more treacherous than what was encountered by the Airasia flight had been experienced and successfully managed by pilots! Annually the Asia-Pacific regions handles about 1 billion passengers. Budget airlines dominate the skies in terms of seat capacity and in the next two decades, this region alone will need about 13,000 planes and not to speak of trained pilots and air crew. Yes, budget airlines have done a yeoman service for ordinary people for allowing them to fly at affordable rates, but then we must ensure safety and lives of passengers are not compromised for airlines companies to make huge profits!
