Human memory is short lived, how many of us actually remember 8th October 2005, when a devastating earthquake of magnitude 7.6 occured, causing destruction of life and property. Are we conscious that we should construct earthquake resistant structures. Have we retrofitted our homes. Have we learnt life saving skills. Its aptly said that earthquakes dont kill, its the faulty constructed buldings that kill. Lets pledge that we will take all possible steps to reduce our vulnerability in order to minimise damages due to any future disasters, especially earthquakes.
