Human mortality becomes more and more real to me with each day that passes. God has purposed for each of us a time to live and a time to die. None of us know how long we will live and none of us know when we will die. The truth that should forever be in the forefront of our minds is that what we do for Christ only will last. Therefore let us follow the instructions of Paul given to the Colossian Christians: Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men, knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord--you serve the Lord Christ (Colossians 3:23-24).
