Human remains found floating in waters off Cronulla yesterday morning (Monday 26 May 2014) have been identified as those of missing Hurstville man, Jamie Gao. An examination of the remains, for the purpose of identification, was conducted a short time ago. A post mortem examination, to determine the cause of Mr Gao’s death, has not yet been completed. Earlier today (Tuesday 27 May 2014), shortly after 11am, Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives arrested a 73-year-old man at his home in Padstow Heights. He was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with murder and large commercial drug supply. He has been refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court today. The 73 year old is the second man to be charged in relation to the alleged murder of Jamie Gao. On Sunday (25 May 2014), a 55-year-old Cronulla man was arrested in Kyeemagh, before being taken to Kogarah Police Station where he was charged with murder and large commercial drug supply. He was refused bail and appeared in Kogarah Local Court yesterday, before being remanded in custody to next appear in Central Local Court on 22 July 2014.
