Humanistic Solidarity Association (Saint Lucia - Cuba) June 5th, 2013 PRESS RELEASE: PM VISIT MEDICAL PATIENTS IN CUBA During his official visit to Cuba, Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Kenny D. Anthony and other members of his Delegation, Hon. Moses Jn. Baptiste; Minister of Agriculture, H.E Ambassador Dr. Cecil Issac and Press Secretary Mrs. Jadia Jn. Pierre-Emmanuel paid an unofficial visit to patients at the Institute of Oncology and Radiobiology (Hospital Oncológico). Bro. Cyril John and Bro. Nicholson Blanchard were two patients whom the Prime Minister met and expressed get well greetings. Austen Gittens, another Saint Lucian receiving medical attention at this Hospital was discharged on Wednesday May 29th. Michael Joseph, a patient at the CIMEQ Hospital also received a visit from the Prime Minister and his Delegation. Three of the patients were part of the May Day Excursion visit to Cuba organized by Humanistic Solidarity Association (Saint Lucia - Cuba). The Association assists persons and coordinates visits for persons seeking medical attention in Cuba. An upcoming visit to Cuba by the Association is the ICAP’s August Brigade from July 26th to August 11th, 2013. This visit gives participants the opportunity to be involved in the voluntary work program, attend seminars, workshops and lectures on the Cuban system of government among other topics. Participants also get the opportunity to see Cuba from Havana to Santiago de Cuba, with stops in the Province of Santa Clara to visit the Ché Guevara Memorial, visits to Camagüey, Ciego de Ávila and Granma Provinces. The Association is also organizing a Medical Excursion visit for September. However, details are still being worked out. The final visit of the year is the fun and frolic visit from October 20 - 29th, 2013.
