Humanity defeats Brutality In India, murder or genocide is a daily cup of tea for us. We feel sad, we sympathise for the departed / bereaved ones but duration of these feelings is becoming shorter and shorter since next day itself media comes out with new incidents. But in Australia, the scene is a bit different. A well governed country built up during the last 200 years has grown a land of peace with a cross continental mix of population contributing to array of cultures developing a citable “concern for people” Yesterday, as a visitor to Australia, I witnessed how, for 16 long hours, the traumatised city was brought under control through a well managed force and strategy. Unlike during 26/11 attack by Pakistan in Mumbai, nothing of operational plan or action were discussed in detail or showed in the TV disclosing strategic information to our arch enemy. Coming to my main point, what overwhelmed me is the spontaneous tears of public for the hostages. They never experienced such attack of wolves so far. Naturally they were bewildered, although the administration up to PM kept their cool throughout and unlike our the then Home Minister, none was busy in changing dresses. In spite of all efforts, two green lives had to leave. But what surprised me is the compassion from all corners. People who are not related to them and even the lady from TV on the spot were crying in broad day light. Flowers and flowers are being laid and I see that the petals are crying with all Australians who possibly are no less bereaved than the relatives of the lost youth.
