Humanity has reached a turning point in the evolution of our species which as the planets master species has control over the future of our race and the planet which we live on through the power of scientific and industrial progress. Power is itself the greatest threat to power. Our need to exploit our planets natural resources and the ancient energy stored in it over 4.5 billion years of its formation from the Sun we have now become victims of our own technosphere which has proven to be incompatible with the natural biospherefrom which all industrial economic resources are drawn, and which has hitherto supported all life on this Earth. Our present state is of a society at a dead-end alley facing the social needs of a future we can no longer meet. We have become bankrupt through industrialism itself, our bank of Nature is about to close. During the earlier Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic ages, even through the Bronze and Iron ages, our utilization of the Earths natural resources was adequate for a comparatively small human population. But ever since the cobwebs created by the Scottish Reformation and its muddling rampage of philosophies caused the emergence of a new consciousness involving God, Nature and Man led Christian proficiency through the Renaissance and age of Colonization - and which was convenient for the industrial revolution in north Europe created out of intellectual curiosity - it created a deviousness that resulted in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries Enlightenment. This was to change history. Today, as a result of these quite recent developments the very physical life support systems of our Earth are threatened by collapse as the tenuous ecological relationships of the Biosphere break up.We have in the past few centuries -- both intellectually and physically -- exceeded the bounds of tolerance in-built in natural Evolution which were holistic and creative and had direct connection with the spiritual and psychic energies implicit in matter and non matter surrounding our world, and which synergies we are now about to lose for ever, leaving behind a dead planet, another marble in the marble-studded heavens. Physical energy may be consumed and lost but psychic and spiritual energies multiply as long as there is an environment to sustain their presence. With a world population bereft of spiritual insights and numbers of humans increasing at an incremental rate with more and more people wanting more and more -- and more and more democratic governments promising more and more material goods and comforts -- the planet is losing natural resources from the biosphere which cannot be replaced and which is necessary for survival for all forms of life and even sub-life.The result is clearly going to end with wars for territory in this rapidly shrinking and diminishing Biosphere. This comes during a time when industrial economics has created a fictional wealth of the economy and we no longer have sufficient real economic resources to ensure the the planet and life on it insurance against disasters that cannot be handled without money, and imminent climate threats such as climate change and over heating of the Earths surface by 7C within the present century, added to our woes being the melting of the polar ice-caps and glaciers and rising sea levels, massive droughts as rivers dry up, and water and food resources become unavailable or rise to prohibitive levels. The future is set to witness massive extinctions and new forms of diseases and pests and thus mankind is set to return to the Palaeolithic age, which will complete the cycle. All this has been the result of mankinds conscious intrusion into the Earths natural rhythms with all the manifest tools developed through the scientific and industrial revolutions. The only glimmer of hope is a change in our civilizational response, through a change in global consciousness, and return to the ancient consciousness of life and nature as sacred -- not objects for mans mastery and exploitation of by divine sanction - to refer again to nature as sacred. This is the teaching of all scriptures, and the ultimate purpose of life and Gods creation.
