Humanitys not that bad exchange of the day: stopped in CVS on my way home. When I got to the self checkout counters, there was a man in a slightly worn brown coat and overall unkempt appearance digging through a plastic bag for loose change to pay for his items. Whether he got this money panhandling, or recycling cans, or neither, I dont know. Some looked at him with pity, others disgust, but he was a paying customer and had just as much right to be there as I did. I decided that whatever change I had left over after my purchase, if give to him so he could finish. The girl in front of him beat me to it and asked him how much more do you need? He thanked her and told her thank you, but I got it. I finished my transaction after fighting with the machine and he was still at it, so I passed him a dollar and said, here, this should speed it up (he had $1.32 to go). He said, no, thank you, preciate it, God Bless You, put it toward a lottery ticket, maybe itll bring you luck. The items in his cart: eggs and dry cat food. Im thinking thats a pretty lucky cat to have someone willing to sacrifice their comfort for them
