Humble pie - North shore century done today was a hard day not because of the course but because of the guys I rode with. This was one of those ride where I can honestly say our group was probably one of the fastest on the course ( or in the top 3). Not because of me but I was riding with a couple of guys out of my league. Wow the carnage people would try to hang with us but one by one they fell off. a guy we knew we invited to ride with us and by the time we got to the sag he had that look I rather ride by my self than with you guys. I hung until mile 75 as I said I was out of my league but it was fun while it lasted. not to say I had it easy after they opened a gap mi amigo Angel Galarza made sure we keep a hard pace going. So now I am having humble pie ( actually french apple cream cheese pie). Now I know what it feels like to ride with the big boys. People look at you differently when they roll into the sag after you blow past them and it is nothing they can do about it. But one guy did mention he like my socks (baby blue that matched my outfit) as we passed him on the road. Little did he know I was hanging on and drafting off the 2 studs that I was riding with. As I said, today was a hard day.
