Hume City Council - as a life long resident of Sunbury it is disgraceful the practice of responsibly disposing of household rubbish has become a luxury and no linger affordable for a typical household. To be charged $90 for a household trailer which was loaded with 95% recyclable materials (cardboard) is highway robbery and by no means justifies the exorbitant rates we pay each year. Further insult is added when we are then provided 2 x tip passes per year which are no where near adequate for the amount of waste generated by a family of 5. Families should at least have access to a tip pass to accommodate seasonal cleaning and gardening. Any wonder people dump rubbish on the side of the road. I took great pleasure making sure nothing on my trailer was resaleable. I Hope Sunbury council makes these bare necessities for families available when they are back in power.
