Hundreds of Par River fish have been killed by pollutant. The latest news is that Cornwall Council is advising people not to enter the water at Par beach. The number of fish killed by a pollutant in a four-mile (7km) stretch of the River Par in Cornwall has risen to "several hundred", according to the Environment Agency, who are still tring to find the source of the pollution. Brown trout, eels and flounders are among the fish killed. Cornwall Council has advised people not to enter the water and said the warning could remain in force for several days. The affected stretch of the river runs all the way from Luxulyan to Par Beach itself.
