Hundreds of motorists blocked roads in Mukurweini constituency to complain about poor roads in the area. The motorists together with local residents held demonstrations along Mathaithi-Mukurweini-Othaya road stating that it was in a deplorable condition. The irked protestors waving placards and twigs blocked the road before planting bananas and napier grass on the road. The residents who were later joined by five Members of Nyeri County Assembly (MCAs), complained that the contractor, Roben Aberdare Company has delayed the rehabilitation of the road after being awarded the contract three years ago.
