Hundreds of officers outside the church where a funeral is being held for a policeman killed along with his partner in an ambush shooting turned their backs on the mayor as he spoke during Saturdays service. The reaction from officers watching Officer Rafael Ramos funeral on giant TV screens outside the church follows comments from police union officials who said Mayor Bill de Blasio contributed to a climate of mistrust toward police amid anti-police protests. Inside Christ Tabernacle Church in Queens, however, mourners gave de Blasio polite applause before and after his speech. The mayor said hearts citywide were aching after the shootings that left Ramos and his partner dead. At a hospital after the Dec. 20 shooting, the police unions president, Patrick Lynch, and others turned their backs on the mayor in a sign of disrespect. Lynch blamed the mayor then for the officers deaths and said he had blood on his hands. Weeks before the shooting, Lynch suggested that officers sign a petition requesting that the mayor not attend their funerals were they to die in the line of duty. Cardinal Timothy Dolan and others had since tried to temper the rhetoric. THIS IS MY OPINE....... THESE OFFICERS ARE MAKING THE SITUATION WORSE THAN IT ALREADY IS....... EVERYBODY WITH ANY BRAINS KNOWS THAT THE NYPD IS EXTREMELY CORRUPT...... FROM THE ROOTER TO THE TOOTER, OOZING CORRUPTION..... EVEN WITH THEM ALLEGEDLY CLEANING UP THE DEPT, IT IS STILL ONE OF THE MOST CORRUPT POLICE ORGANIZATIONS IN THE UNITED STATES. SO FOR THEM TO ACT LIKE EVERYTHING IS ALL PEACHY WITHIN THE RANKS IS A DENIAL OF EPIC PROPORTIONS...... ITS FUNNY TO ME THAT THESE SAME LAW MEN, HAVE THE GALL TO TURN THEIR BACKS ON MAYOR DE BLASIO, (OF WHOM IS THE MAYOR OF ALL OF NYC, NOT JUST THE POLICE DEPT), WHILE AT THE SAME TIME THEY AND THE SYSTEM THAT BACKS THEM, WILL STAND BY, TURN THEIR SAME BACKS, AND DO NOTHING WHEN THEY KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THEIR COMRADES ARE ABUSING THE BADGE, BEATING, BRUTALIZING, AND MURDERING CITIZENS, PLANTING FALSE EVIDENCE, INTIMIDATING WITNESSES, MANIPULATING CRIME SCENES, IN CAHOOTS WITH PROSECUTORS, ENGAGING IN EXTORTION, ROBBERY SHAKEDOWNS, MOVING DOPE, RUNNING GUNS ETC... ALL THIS UNDER THE GUISE OF PROTECT AND SERVE.... HOW ABOUT THIS DEPT AND ANY OTHER POLICE DEPT, TURN ITS BACK ON COMPLICIT WRONG DOINGS..... STOP TREATING HUMAN BEINGS LIKE ANIMALS, ADOPT THE MINDSET THAT ALL CITIZENS ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY INSTEAD OF THE OTHER WAY AROUND AND WHEN IN FACT A CITIZEN IS GUILTY, UNDERSTAND THAT THAT GUILTY CITIZEN IS STILL A HUMAN BEING, NOT AN ANIMAL..... WHEN THERE IS UNEQUIVOCAL WRONG DOIN FROM ANY COMRADE(S), MAKE IT KNOWN THAT THAT BEHAVIOR WONT BE TOLERATED AND REPORT TO THE PROPER AUTHORITY....
