Hundreds of people, if not more, are feared to have been killed in the attack on Baga, a fishing town on the shores of Lake Chad, in what could be the militants’ worst in their six-year rebellion. Boko Haram has kidnapped hundreds, killed thousands, and displaced tens of thousands of people. They burn entire villages to the ground and leave the streets littered with dead bodies. They are now crossing the Nigerian border and waging war in Chad, Niger, and Cameroon. We are watching a modern-day genocide unfold. This is evil in its purest form. The solution is complex and requires collaboration by many governments. My thoughts are with Nigeria, its people, and those who are courageous enough to intervene. theguardian/world/2015/jan/21/boko-haram-claims-baga-massacre-and-threatens-nigerias-neighbours
