Hunger Games FANFIC! 5+ likes and some feedback :) ~Divergent Tribute I start the morning with a swim. Why? Because it’s the only that gets things off my head. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself! I’m Ocean Wild. Weird name, right? I live in the career district, District 4. I’m the fastest swimmer for my age and the ages around me. And I forgot to leave something. My dad’s the Mayor. And the one downside of being the Mayor’s Son is that no matter what, and with also with the other entire Mayor’s son/daughters, our names will always be in the Reaping. And you can probably get to where I’m heading. Today’s the Reaping for the 59th Hunger Games. I’m 18, which makes me the oldest and thankfully got out of all the other ones before. This is my last year, which makes me happy. But, I can’t be so sure. I keep swimming breaststroke before my Mom calls me for breakfast. Oh yeah, I have an ocean side view from my house. Which is why I swim so good and why my parents named me Ocean. I walk in to see my mom, Aqua, make toasted bread with cream cheese and caviar on top. My absolute favorite. “So Ocean, are you excited for the reaping today?” she asks me. I look up at her, with a dead eye. “Too harsh? I’m sorry sweetheart! I’m just trying to brighten up the mood. This is your last year anyway!” “Just because it’s my last year, doesn’t mean I won’t get Reaped.” “Don’t worry about it. I’m sure you’ll be fine.” My dad walks down the stairs shirtless. And to be honest, that’s pretty normal in District 4. All the guys swim shirtless anyway. “Good morning, honey” My mom says as she goes in for a kiss. “Good morning, Aqua,” he says as they go in for another kiss. “Ocean, are you ready for today?” “Super Duper Ooper Excited!” I reply in a sarcastic voice. “Is your speech ready?” “The one I use every year? Please, I can go catch a shark while the weird Capitol lady takes over.” We all laugh. As I think it over, maybe this year won’t be bad after all. I hope.
