Hunger. Who can deny its strength? But hunger isnt restricted to the starving people alone. The well-fed have hunger too, of different kinds. My hunger is again for money. My mother slipped and hurt her back yesterday. For two days she hasnt been able to walk without support. I could not take her to a doctor because she refused an ambulance, and because we live on the second floor of a lift-less building and she wouldnt have been able to climb down the stairs with her damaged back. Her back is slightly better now, but it reminded me of my hunger. My hunger now is for money so that I can afford a more expensive ground floor house to ensure mobility for my mom (rents are at least 20% higher for houses on the ground floor in my locality). To a starving person this must sound like a mockery of his own poverty - middle class homeowners struggling to buy a more expensive ground floor house. And yet, I would do anything in my power to make my moms life a little easier. Isnt life funny? ~ Abhijit
