Hunger strike of National Youth Corps (NYC) of Jammu and Kashmir at Jantar Mantar call off with the presence of DG NYK Saleem and Secretary Sports Government of India Rajiv Gupta in the 19th Day. Earlier Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir Omar Sahib promised to the NYC in a personal meeting on March 6, 2014 at Civil Secretariat Jammu where in Chief Minister promised that he was fighting for their cause and demands will be full filled after the code of conduct and hope their future will be saved at priority. Furthermore Director General of NYK and Secretary Youth Service and Sports assured the NYC on hunger strike that their matter will be treated as urgent and Central Government will support them at any corner what so ever. Asif Ali Bhat state president All JKNYCA said timely we present our genuine demands in front of government in a democratic way but government remain on youth ignoring policy and only gave verbally assurances. We are educated youth and our selection was purely made on merit basis. And till now we rendered more than three years of service in Govt. department. He also blamed the govt that if Govt had no perfect policy for us then why Govt engaged we person and bring our future towards darkness. Even as per guidelines govt. totally failed to act upon their own procedure keeping in mind that we are govt employees and we left our studies as Govt taken an undertaking to stop your studies. Henceforth this condition lies only with Govt. employees. Finally NYCs got associated only on behalf of their hard work in the respective department their future and knocked each and every door which includes almost all MLCs. MLAs, Ministers, Secretaries, Sos, besides this NYCs made appointments possible with union ministers namely Ajay Makan, Gh.Nabi Azad, Shri Jatendra Ji, Saif- ud-din Soz(MP), Lal Singh, Madan Lal Sharma, DGP NYK, and they all directed us towards state and state redirected us to centre & vice versa. The resultant of this whole process was just that the NYCs made protests undergo hunger-strike and what not. after ten days hunger strike the state government assured us that your demands are genuine and will be fulfilled soon.
