Hunger vs Cravings: One way to not over eat and keep your calories lower is to decipher when you are actually hungry and when it is just a craving. Hunger is more of a feeling and cravings are more emotional. When one is actually hungry the hormone ghrelin gets released and can give you hunger pangs. When one is stressed or emotional, cortisol can get released causing cravings. Before you eat something ask yourself a few questions? 1. Do you just want something sweet/salty? Or would you eat anything? 2. Are you stressed? 3. Are you bored? 4. Is your energy low? If it is a craving then go do something; get busy. If you are hungry? Eat. Simple. #nickfittip
