Hungry Enough...to FAST! Advance HIS Kingdom Are you hungry enough...to fast? Are you hungry enough to experience God in a greater way as you push away the dinner...plate in exchange for His breast...plate of righteousness. Matthew 5:6 says Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Are you hungry enough to decrease, so that He might increase so that you may Advance HIS Kingdom? In other words, are you so hungry for more of God - Are you hungry enough...to fast? The UPCI General Conference, will convene September 30 - October 3, 2014 at the Americas Center in St. Louis, MO. The theme is Advance HIS Kingdom. We anticipate a dynamic conference with the Shekinah glory of God in our midst! September will be designated as a month of prayer for the UPCI and for the upcoming General Conference, with special prayer designated on Wednesday, September 24 (UPCI World Day of Prayer) and special fasting designated on Tuesday, September 23 through Thursday, September 25. Please join with us in these three days of corporate fasting. You may consider and complete one of the following types of fasts: The Normal Fast: Eliminating solid foods, but drinking only water or liquids for 3 days. The Daniel Fast: Intaking only vegetables and drinking liquids for 3 days. The Partial Fast: Fasting one or two meals a day for 3 days. (May be especially suitable for those with medical conditions; children who desire to participate; etc) Please participate in this three-day fast in whatever way you are led to by the Spirit. Remember that during this time of consecration your prayers are more effective if your heart and mind is clean, clear, and ready to receive from God. Therefore, it is important to incorporate repentance, gird up the loins of your mind, and get dressed spiritually. Ephesians 6:10-18 says to put on the whole armor of God and to pray. Your fervent prayers and sacrificial fast will make a difference for this pivotal conference! A prayer agenda also will be forthcoming. Pastors and their church congregations are particularly urged to participate in this important consecration. Fasting helps to place the flesh under subjection so that God can have the preeminence in our lives. Fasting, coupled with prayer, brings humility to the human nature and propagates greater sensitivity to the spiritual realm. Fasting initiates the surrender of the body, soul and spirit to the Lord. It is an act of surrender and self-denial of the flesh in exchange for a greater revelation of Jesus. Fasting has many rewards (Isaiah 58:6-14). We are expecting great things to manifest worldwide as a result of this grand event! Psalm 107:9 says For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. Again, Are you hungry enough...to fast? If so, get ready to be filled...with GOODNESS! Flo Shaw International Coordinator World Network of Prayer
