Huriyat calls for march towards Shopian tomorrow (Full Report): #Srinagar, September 19 : In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference has called for a march towards Shopian, tomorrow, to press the demand of lifting the curfew in the town. The decision was taken at a joint meeting of the APHC Executive and General Councils, which was held in Srinagar. The meeting was chaired by senior APHC leader, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt. It was decided in the meeting that the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq would lead the march from Jamia Masjid, Srinagar and other leaders including Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Musaddiq Aadil, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Zafar Akbar Butt, Yasmeen Raja, Javed Ahmad Mir, Hakim Abdul Rasheed, Saleem Gilani and Syed Bashir Ahmad Andrabi would proceed towards the town from different areas of the territory. The participants of the march will offer Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid in Shopian.The APHC chairman, who continues to be under house arrest, addressed the meeting through video conferencing. APHC leader, Ghulam Ahmed Mir in a statement issued in Jammu supported the call. Curfew is in force in Shopian since the killing of five civilians by Indian Central Reserve Force personnel during the first week of September. Talking to the media, the locals of the area complained that they were facing acute shortage of daily commodities and medicines. Meanwhile, shutdown was observed at Nowhatta in Srinagar for the second consecutive day, today, against the detention of a youth Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh by Indian police. Veteran Hurriyet leader Syed Ali Gilani and other Hurriyet leaders including Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Zafar Akbar Butt and Javed Ahmad Mir continued to remain under house arrest. The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and JKLF-R paid rich tributes to martyr Ajaz Ahmad Dar on his martyrdom anniversary, today. Five people were killed and four were injured when a passenger vehicle plunged into a deep gorge on Machail-Kupwara Road in Kupwara district. #Ahsan_Mistry
