Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani’s health deteriorated on Friday as he developed severe chest pain. The Hurriyat (G) has urged people to pray for the recovery of Geelani who has lost 10 kg weight in recent days. According to a statement issued here, Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar said Geelani developed chest pain and weakness in his entire body since early Friday morning. “We recorded his weight and found that he has lost 10 kilograms, which is a cause of worry,” he said. “We appeal the people of Kashmir to pray for the early recovery of the ailing leader,” he said. Geelani is suffering from multiple diseases, he is surviving on a single kidney and has a pace-maker implanted. Meanwhile, police have lifted siege around Geelani’s Hyderpora residence. Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chief Syeda Asiya Andrabi visited Geelani to inquire about his health. “It is unfortunate that Geelani couldn’t even speak properly due to weakness in his body. I presented the recently released book, Ahsanaul-Hadith, by Dr Qasim Fakhtoo, to the ailing leader. He kissed the book and cried,” Andrabi said.
