Husband sentence to death for killing wife Our Correspondent BOGRA: A man was sentenced to death by a court for murder of his wife here in Bogra on Thursday. District and Session Judge SM Saiful Islam, Women and child repression prevention tribunal-02 found the convict guilty under section the Women and child repression prevention act and pronounced the judgment in a crowded courtroom. The convict is Md Riaz Uddin, 70, son of late Isa Fakir of village Namuja Shahpara under shadar upazila of Bogra district. It is learned that the convict strangulated to kill his wife Piara Khatun daughter of Mohiuddin Fakir, village of Namuja Bogarpara over family feud on April 19, 1997. Md. Momotaj Uddin brother of the victim lodged a case with shadar police station under section Women and child repression prevention act following the murder. The trial court examined some prosecution witnesses and other relevant evidences during the trial and declared the hand to death punishment of the murder accused.
