Hyderabad, July 26: The Welfare Party of India (WPI) Andhra Pradesh contested in the local body polls from some places and won the seats. In the first phase of panchayat elections 3 candidates of Welfare party, who were contesting for the posts of sarpanchs, won the elections. The victory was gained in 2 villages of Nizamabad district and Karimnagar and Godavari. Similarly 5 candidates of Welfare Party in Nizamabad have been elected as ward members while one each was elected in Nellore, Khammam, Karimnagar and Mahboobnagar. Thus altogether 9 ward members of welfare party became victorious. As per the press note of WPI, out of the 9 elected ward members 1 is non Muslim and 8 are Muslims while one non Muslim sarpanch won the election from Nizamabad and one from Karimnagar. Party’s state unit president Malik Moatasim Khan has hoped that if Allah wills so the journey of success will continue in the future elections too.
