Hyderabad PAWS is the first dog magazine of Hyderabad twin cities and it aims at strengthening the human - animal bond. Spear headed by animal enthusiast , editor and alumni of St Mary’s Junior College, Mr Shashi Preetam , this pet lovers magazine has made a mark for itself . Hyderabad PAWS organized an Elocution Competition in St Mary’s yesterday. About 30 students gave their views regarding compassion towards animals , how to care for them voiced their protest against animal testing and protection of stray animals. They emphasized the need to “be human”, while making their views heard about animal abuse and promoting an understanding of the right of all animals to be treated with respect. Personal examples were narrated and anecdotes shared. The First Prize went to Sindhu Subramaniam, III BA , the Second prize was awarded to Hamaad, I B Com and the Third prize winner was Rishita, I year MEC. An excellent display of confidence, knowledge and awareness by the students !
