Hyundai adds Accent hatch to SA range Hyundai South Africa has added a five-door Accent hatchback to its local passenger car range. The Accent hatch is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine and available with either a six-speed manual or a four-speed automatic gearbox. The Accent hatchback fits in very well in the local Hyundai range between the i20 and i30 hatchbacks — not only in terms of price, but also when it comes to interior space for passengers as well as luggage storage, said Stanley Anderson, Marketing Director at Hyundai Automotive South Africa. Two derivatives — the 1.6 Fluid manual, with a six-speed gearbox, and the 1.6 Fluid with a four-speed automatic transmission — have just hit showroom floors. The petrol engine has a displacement of 1591cc and delivers 91kW at 6300rpm and 156Nm at 4200rpm. The manual Accent hatch has a claimed fuel consumption figure 6.4 litres per 100km, while the automatic version delivers a claimed 6.8 litres per 100km. Standard features include manual air-con, electric side-mirrors, electric windows, an audio system with iPod/USB/Aux ports, Bluetooth functionality, and rear parking sensors. The rear seats drop to extend the standard luggage area of 370 litres. The Accent hatch also features driver and passenger airbags, side- and curtain-airbags, and ABS with EBD. Price: Accent Hatch 1.6 Fluid Manual: R234 900 Accent Hatch 1.6 Fluid Auto: R244 900 Included: Five-year or 150 000km warranty and five-year or 90 000km service plan (intervals of 15 000km). iAfrica
