I AM ASKING IF YOU CAN COME.............. PLEASE COME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wednesday July 3rd , 2013 at 9:00 am at HCDA office located at 461 Cooke Street, Makai Room. PLEASE COME OR FORWARD TO ANYONE WHO CAN COME THIS IS OUR LAST HEARING THEY WILL VOTE YES OR NO THIS DAY so I say If you believe that workforce housing condominiums are needed near the business core in Honolulu, which I assure you is under served, I would appreciate you showing support if you want to testify that is even better of why we need this..BUT IF NOT PLEASE JUST SHOW UP AND SIGN IN as in support I must recruit as many people as possible to come to testify in person, that means to dedicate at least a 2 HOURS morning. Not a easy thing giving that it is a working day just before a holiday. The next Public Hearing for my 803 Waimanu project is scheduled for: ·Wednesday July 3rd , 2013 at 9:00 am at HCDA office located at 461 Cooke Street, Makai Room. Please let me know if you are willing to come and testify. If not, please forward this and/or put me in touch with some of your friends, who must have experienced firsthand how expensive it is to find housing, not just in Kakaako, but anywhere on the Oahu. PLEASE WATCH OUR VIDEO vimeo/69550190 The written testimony wrote by a supporter is a great example of the kind of testimony that would be beneficial. ipetitions/petition/support-work-force-housing-at-803-waimanu/ or testifying with the following info Following is a brief summary of the issues specific to subject project: ·We are proposing 196 Workforce (affordable) for sale housing units at 803 Waimanu Street in Kakaako. ·HCDA (Hawaii Community Development Authority), the state agency with jurisdiction over Kakaako, allows us to ask for modifications to the rules as incentives to facilitate the construction of affordable housing. ·HCDA will approve granting modification to the rules only if there is strong public support. ·The issue boils down to preserving private and short term interests vs. encouraging projects that provide long term public benefits. Please note: 1.the shortage of affordable housing in Hawaii is the highest in the nation with more than 28,000 units needed and very little political will to resolve the crisis (see 2nd attachment) 2.Even if you are not seeking to live in Kakaako, this project will produce the beneficial cascading effect of relieving demand anywhere else on the island. Please let me know if you or anyone else is willing to come to testify at this Public Hearing. Thank you MAHALO FRANCINE THINK BEFORE YOU PRINT... BE GREEN
