I AM PROUD OF ABIRAMI TEACHER! When Ms.Abirami, a teacher of SBOA (State Bank Officers Association) School in Anna Nagar West, started a Prayer on Bhagwan Ganesha at the assembly of standard XII students in March 2012, the school Principal Selvarani and Correspondent Sherly Paul snatched the mike from her and forcefully removed her from the scene. Then a Christian prayer session was conducted and the students dispersed. Later the school management took “disciplinary” action by suspending her. She went to higher authorities and also to the police. Unfortunately she didn’t get justice from them. Meanwhile she was harassed and finally dismissed from service. Her mistake was attempting to chant a Hindu Sloka in a school, managed by a secular institution, with a majority of Hindu students! Though I helped her with my suggestions and also with my contact in the media circle, she has been fighting for the last two and a half years all alone. She approached the Court of Law, argued her own case and obtained this order, which has given her a good break. The Metropolitan Magistrate Court has directed the Police to file a case against the five officials of the school management including the principal and CEO Sherly Paul, investigate the case and file a report. I understand that, not only the school management, but also the SBOA Executive Committee is full of Xian fanatics and the school is being run as a Xian institution. I couldn’t understand what the heck the SBI management is doing!
