I Am No More Speaker Of ADHA – Kwamoti Laori The acting speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Barr Kwamoti Laori has debunked insinuations over any leadership tussle in the State House of Assembly, adding that the sacked former acting governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, remains the substantive speaker of the Assembly. Meanwhile, the new governor, Bala Ngillari, has appointed Barr Ishaya Banu as the acting Chief Judge of the state following the expiration of the tenure of his predecessor, Justice Ambrose Mamadi. Laori who was the deputy speaker before Governor Murtala Nyako was impeached said he has no contention with the coming back of Fintiri to lead the House saying he became the acting governor by his virtue as speaker of the State House of Assembly and currently Fintiri is the speaker of the House. “Fintiri is the speaker of the House of Assembly. I am no longer the speaker; I am the deputy speaker,” he said. He said those who were insinuating that the spirit of the Federal Character will be abused if Fintiri comes back as the speaker are either ignorant or mischievous adding that had the spirit of the Federal Character was the deciding principle upon which political offices should be occupied, the current speaker of Federal House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, wouldn’t have been in office because his coming to office have breached the principle.
