I Am Shocked, And My Heart Is Heavy, This Early AM!! I cant get Galatians 1:6-9 of my mind as we are about to take our youth to the beach in a few hours.. Paul says, I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News, but it not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ.. Let Gods curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you. I say again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any other Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed...... We have been preaching a different Good News for the past 75-100 years! We have twisted the truth concerning Christ in a way that has us all attracted to what Jesus can give us, the free gift of eternal life, without the relationship that He demands we have with him!... And we have accepted this new way because it has become the message that builds churches! We have grasped this new message, that really promises eternal life to all who believe, without any possibility of falling away because of our disobedience or our love for this world!!!!! So, as I look at this New Way Good News, what I see, is a people who are really attracted to the gift, and not the Gift Giver!... And to clarify why I say this, Ill show you what I mean: When I hear people talking to lost people about this New Way Good News, I never hear them telling them about how to follow Jesus Christ, who will lead them to receive this eternal life, all I hear is a message of how to receive His free gift, without the following part!! And why has this happened? Why? Because its not the message that will build a church! It is not a message that will draw the numbers! And we wonder why the number of people who chose to follow Jesus, as He walked this earth, was so small - they liked the message of the Scribes and Pharisees better - the message of how we can get to heaven without our lifestyles even reflecting the only One who can get us there!!!... Try preaching Luke 9:23, where Jesus says, If you want to follow me, you must die to your selfish ways, pick up your cross daily, and follow me, and see who will come running to your church? Not many huh? That message didnt work to good for Jesus either - THEY KILLED HIM!! So as your reflecting on your lifestyle today, ask yourself, Where is Jesus Christ? Or, do you think it might be possible that you have been following the message of the people who have twisted the truth concerning Christ for so many years, and you have grasped the free gift without the Gift Giver, and Jesus is really no where to be seen or heard, away from the hour or two that you might hang out at the church on Sundays?...... I am truly scared for all people who occupy this world we live in today!.... Should I be scared for you?
