Several weeks ago, owners of a storage facility in Shreveport, La., made a horrific discovery inside of a unit which had been abandoned by renters. Inside of the unit, lying on the concrete floor, was a lifeless four-month-old puppy who was chained to a car. The puppy had been abandoned in the unit - left for at least a week, while outdoor temperatures were near the century mark, with no food, water or bedding. The puppy, dubbed "Braveheart," by his rescuers was so weak from his time alone that the woman who discovered him believed that he had died. After picking up the gaunt body, and seeing the blink of an eye, the woman realized that somehow, against all odds, the puppy was still alive. Braveheart was whisked away to the Animal Emergency Clinic, in Shreveport, La., where Dr. Conduff immediately went to work to save his young life. After being provided with IV fluids, a blood transfusion and other life-saving treatment, Braveheart turned the corner from brink of death, to fight for life.
