I Declare as I look at a tree It still amazes me That just a tiny little seed Can push through the ground and become a tree That is beautiful, strong, and tall And it started as a seed, tiny and small Some trees produce fruit of all kinds While others bring forth shade for mankind Yes there are trees of every shape and size But the one that shines in my eyes Is the tree that was cut, and shaped into a cross And where I turn to when I feel lost It’s the tree that held my Savior’s Body one day It’s that cross that held my Savior, yes He did pay For a dept that I would never be able to wipe out He hung for me, and with a whisper not a shout Father forgive them they know not what they do Then He cried out, “It Is Finished”, the debt is paid nothing else is due Maybe the next time you look at a tree It will not be just the tree that you see But take a moment to look back through time And put this forever in your mind There once was a tree shaped like a cross That our Savior hung on for six hours, so we would not be lost Yes forever when I look at a tree It is not the tree that I see It is Sweet Jesus, and what He did for you and me This is my declaration
