I Dont Always Collect X-Men - ...but when I do, they become hard to find and worth a pretty penny. My comic book collection is all over the place. Ive never been one to collect a specific series. My lot is full of stories I enjoyed, characters Im fond of and obscure comics I have a hard time finding. So, I dont know how I lucked out in the X-Men department. Youre looking at: • The Avengers Annual #10 - The 1st appearance of Rogue • The Uncanny X-Men #266 - The 1st appearance of Gambit • The Uncanny X-Men #282 - The 1st appearance of Bishop • The New Mutants #87 - The 1st appearance of Cable • The New Mutants #98 - The 1st appearance of Deadpool The most Ive shelled out was $40 for the Deadpool title. The rest were lucky finds in dollar boxes except for the CGC graded Rogue. That was $5 at a comic shop that was closing down. It was mismarked and the cashier didnt care. I wont say what theyre all worth but Im $48 in and can make WELL over that if I sold these now. However, Im going to store them somewhere insanely safe, get them all CGC graded (which locks in their value) and potentially sell them when Fox releases the Deadpool and Gambit movies. If my math is right, theyll be worth several grand as a lot by then. So, I guess something good did come out of my beloved childhood characters getting roped in by Fox...
