I Fu&^ing Did It… ... and it took more then 20 seconds of insane courage. Last week I posted about how vulnerable I felt getting flipped over and sucked out of my kayak in a class 5 rapid. As I was trying to swim to safety, getting bounced off of rocks, I said to myself - I don’t need to do this again… I WAS WRONG – I guess I did have to do it again. 5 days later I was above the same rapids, hands shaking, heart pounding and the voice in my head going “YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FU*&KING CRAZY!” This a video of that run. It is on Clear Creek outside of Golden. We go from Black Rock Rapids, through the Narrows (3 more class 5 drops) and end at a rapid called Riga Mortis 5+. The hardest rapids are at the end of the video (just the way it got edited.) My sharing this is a whole other side of vulnerability… rather then just sharing my fears and heart-breaks, I want to share what I’m proud of, my accomplishments, where I feel my fear and do it anyway. What are you proud of, what makes you feel alive, what does the little kid in you want to share with the world?
