I HATE COMCAST I eliminated Comcast as my internet carrier and have been tempted to eliminate them for cable , except for the hassle of transitioning to DirectTV. Im not aware of other cable providers in Boston. Who has experience watching programs on their computer? Tonight I was unable to access a few upper channels. In the middle of the screen would be a blue box stating the channel unavailable and giving a reference code. I have seldom had a good experience with Comcast customer service. Tonight was no exception. I called customer service. The woman (Susan) refreshed it , whatever that is. I wound up with no TV. Whereas before I had no access to about five channels, now I had access to none. The earliest they can send a technician is Tues, even though Susans handiwork screwed everything up. So much for making an effort. When I asked for credit for the time Id have no TV (assuming theyll fix the problem Tues), she told me Id have to call back for that. She could not do it. Its not like I was trying to milk Comcast. Seemed pretty simple to me: TV not working around 9pm as a result of customer service and it would be repaired Tues. No, Susan told me, Id have to call and request credit. This is a common business tactic, increase the number if steps consumers have to make, and a greater number will fail to follow through. Saves money . Before hanging up, Susan asked if she could help me with anything else. No, I thanked her, youve done enough. When I hung up, I thought I should have pushed more to have a technician come out tomorrow and not two days from now given my experience. I reached a gentleman who was no more helpful than Susan in getting me someone to come tomorrow, except for one thing. But I can give you a credit Mr Brinning for that time.
