I Had to custom modify my Van Staal VM-150 spinning reel because Van Staal did not release the bailess conversion kit. I decided to take matters into my own hands similar to what caused me to open Altrich Anglers. Bailess means no bail wire on the reel. This saves snapping off 20-30 dollar plugs when the bail snaps shut unexpectedly. Now there is just the pulley on one side with a custom made counter weight on the other side to eliminate reel wobble due to the missing bail wire. Anyway the world has now seen its 1st custom made bailess VM-150. This modification is easy to do but if you mess it up your out $400.00 bucks. The more expensive bailess Van staals are $800.00 bucks so this simple modification saves $400.00 bucks. Tight lines! Dave
