I Hail from Arunachal Pradesh & Im here to here to tell you about the Witch whose presence are Declining due to Deforestrations & increasing Populations. They are Known by Different names in Different Regions due to distinct Dialects among different Tribes. In My Galo Language,Its known as Yaapom. They have Strong powers but with People with small heart are most prone to them. Once My friend & his friend went for a Fish Catch nearby the River. They spent whole day there. While both of them were returning after a Good Fish catch in the late Evening, the Son forgot his Slipper in the site. Mid-way he went back to take the Slipper through Dense shrubs & forests & told his father to go Home. Time Goes by & by, His Son didnt returned Home. At Night, His Father Calls all the Village people & they went all together carrying Fire looking for his Son. They went through Tough terrains & Wet jungles where there are more chances of Yapoms Inhabitats. Even went to the spot where they were catching Fish.Only they could find was a his Slipper. . Early Morning all people again took a search operations carrying their Daos & Hunting Guns. They went through abandoned Fields & River Banks,but in Vain. . As usual when this type of Incidents happens, the Local Priests is called upon to perform Rituals. Not 12 hours passed, the Son returned Home with not a single scratch on his Bodies. Yaapom are believed to b a Good caretaker when they take Human Being with them. Though some dont return. He totally looked Hypnotised. As he regain his health, he told that He was right there outside the Grain-Store of Rice field,sitting with the Two Yaapom. He saw his Father,the village people carrying fire torches calling his Name. He tried to yell out to them. But in vain, No Sounds could reach them as they were just 10-20 metres away. The Yaapom were just flying from Trees to trees just touching the leaves. Their Home was in a very Big tree with Lots of Families club together. They could speak all languages. They were totally naked. Some were Rude & some were Good to protect him from teasing. From the Big tree, he could clearly see the spot where he & his Father was fishing whole day. When he was asked how he reached home, He couldnt remember any how he reached home. After one week, the boy sat out wid friends looking for the Big tree. From any angle, there was not a sign of Big tree. #PS: this a real story which happened many years ago & this witch stories are yet to unfold by Scientists as this kind of story are Common wid different people.
